Any Photo Finale or Foto Depot site (standard PF, Photo Finale Managed or Photo Finale Enterprise) may opt to have a custom domain. This means, that instead of yoursite.photofinale.com, your site would be YOURSITE.com and all links would use that URL. To use your custom domain, there are a few steps...
How to set up your custom domain:
- Opt In: Purchase the custom domain option from Photo Finale Inc. This is a one-time fee, your sales rep will provide a quote.
- Buy Domain: If you don't already own the domain you want to use, buy it. You can buy it from any service that sells them (like, godaddy.com).
- Buy SSL: In order to use your custom domain for with ecommerce sales, the site needs to have a valid SSL certificate. First, buy the SSL certificate from the same site you purchased your domain (or any similar site). When you purchase, you will need to select the protection and plan type. For most dealers, choose to protect 1 website with a standard plan. You can select whichever timeframe suits you.
- Sign CSR: Once you buy the SSL certificate, you will use it to sign a CSR file (which we will send you). When you sign it with your SSL certificate authority (be it godaddy.com or any other signature authority), you must sign it for an IIS7 server.
- Send us CSR zip: Once it is signed, please download the signed CSR from the signature authority and email it back to us. It will be a downloadable as a zip file.
- Then once we load the signed signature on our side, we can then coordinate a time with you to update the DNS for your domain to point to the correct places for the new site, and roughly at the same time we will make the final changes on our end to complete this process.
