To remove the APM kiosk software from a machine, you'll need to close the software, deactivate the license, and then remove the actual components. To shutdown the APM application components, please do the following:

  1. Tap in the bottom, left corner of the intro animation (the screen that loops and says "Touch Here to Start").
  2. You will be presented with a keypad. Enter your administrative access code, usually '1234'.
  3. Choose the option labeled Quit APM Software.
  4. Once the software closes, you will be able to access the Windows desktop. Double-click on the icon labeled APM Hardware Attendant.
  5. When the Hardware Attendant loads, press the Quit button in the bottom, right-hand corner. This will close all APM components.

Next, you need to deactivate the license on the machine. To do this:

  1. In Windows, open My Computer.
  2. Open your primary hard disk, usually labeled Local Disk (C: ) or APM-XXXXX, where xxxxx is the actual APM ID license number for the kiosk.
  3. Open the APM_FOLDERS directory.
  4. Open the Tools directory.
  5. Open the ActivationReset directory.
  6. Double-click on the file labeled ActivationReset.exe. This will clear the license from the machine.

You are now able to remove the software from the machine. To do so:

  1. In Windows, open My Computer.
  2. Open your primary hard disk, usually labeled Local Disk (C: ) or APM-XXXXX, where xxxxx is the actual APM ID license number for the kiosk.

Delete the following directories:

  • APM
  • APM_FOLDERS
  • APM_TRANSFER

Once the folders have been deleted, restart the machine, and the uninstall process will be complete. You can also delete the shortcut to the APM Hardware Attendant that was placed on the desktop as it will continue to reference the files that you have removed.
