These steps correct an issue with the February 2013 calendar grid (half of it was showing up).  The file was corrupt and has been fixed, but since it’s cached in Lab 50 you are still setting the bad file.  These are the steps to clear the cache and have Lab 50 download the correct template.  We call this “resetting the local database.”  There are a wide variety of other issues that resetting the database may resolve with Lab 50--if it's not downloading an order after several attempts or if you are seeing odd error messages when attempting to process orders etc., but you should consult a Lucidiom support rep on the issue before proceeding with a reset.

Resetting the Local Database: Side Effects

You may want to do this at the end of the day, or whenever you have the shortest (or better yet, empty) print/order queue because performing the database reset means:

  • Any kiosk order that was in the Orders tab will no longer be there after the reset.  You can still get to and print or reprint orders as long as you have the backup folder option enabled (Settings>Order Management>Importing>Backup Imported Orders).  You will need to move orders from the backup folder to the import folder to print them.  (Note: if you do not have backups on, once you reset the database, there is no way to recover kiosk orders).
  • All data related to orders placed online will be removed from the Orders tab, but the next time you start Lab 50 it will download the online order data again.  Keep in mind though, the more online orders the lab has received the longer this process will take.
How to Reset the Local Database
  1. Quit Lab 50
  2. Go to the root directory (default location is C:\Program Files\Lucidiom Lab 50 or (for 64bit) C:\Program Files (x86)\Lucidiom Lab 50).
  3. Delete the Temp folder
  4. Delete the Photos folder
  5. Delete the LabData.sdf file (this is the database file)
  6. Restart Lab 50 and allow time for the online order data to download
  7. Move any kiosk orders that need to be printed/reprinted from the backup folder to the import folder.  They will show up as new orders once you do this.
    1. Path to Import folder:
      WinXP or Win7 32bit: C:\Program Files\Lucidiom Lab 50\Import
      Win7 64bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lucidiom Lab 50\Import
    2. Path to Backup folder:
      WinXP or Win7 32bit: C:\Program Files\Lucidiom Lab 50\Import\Backup
      Win7 64bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\Lucidiom Lab 50\Import\Backup
