Processing Orders

When you right-click on an order, you can perform one of several actions. They include the following:

  • Open: Opens up a window with the details for the order.
  • Print: Prints the order to the selected fulfillment assigned for each product.
  • Download: Downloads the order from Lucidiom's storage server.
  • Export: Exports the order to the Output Folder.
  • Print Invoice: Prints the invoice for the order on the default printer specified in Windows.
  • Burn CD/DVD: Burns order to CD or DVD. If the order contains a CD or DVD product and Back Lab Burner is loaded and configured to be used, it will burn the Image CD and/or DVD based on the settings in the Fulfillment section for Back Lab Burner.
  • Charge Payment: Charges payment using the payment processing account. For this to work, you must have an active processor account configured for use within Lab 50.
  • Purge: Removes the order from the Orders screen.
  • Cancel: Cancels the order and updates the order status icon in the upper-left corner of the order.
  • Complete: Moves an order to the Completed queue and triggers the Order Complete email being sent to your customer (if configured to do so).
  • Mark as Printed: Moves an order from the New screen to the Printed screen to make it easy to see which orders still need to be processed.
  • Mark as New: Moves an order from the Printed screen to the New screen.
  • Re-route: If your store offers multiple pick-up locations and each location uses its own copy of Lab 50 for processing orders, you can re-route a web order for processing at another location. This option is particularly useful if one location is undergoing printer maintenance. Once you have selected to re-route an order, Lab 50 will display all configured store locations.
  • Sort by: Sorts all of the orders in the Order screen using the selected menu option.
  • Select All: Selects all of the orders and highlights them in blue so you can apply a single action to multiple orders at the same time.
Printing and the Print Preview Screen

When you select to print an order, the Print Order Preview screen will display. This print preview provides the opportunity to modify the order before it is sent through the software for processing. It also allows the lab operator to print parts of a specific order.

**Note: If you have selected multiple orders, you will not be able view the print preview or make changes to print quantities, as it will only display when printing a single order at a time.

Once the Print Preview Order screen appears, thumbnails of the images within the order will appear with the quantity
and product ordered for that image as well as some general information such as the file name and size.

Print Preview Screen

As shown in the Print Preview image above, all of the images and products are enabled and set to print the quantities
that the customer ordered by default.

You can click on the Print button to print the entire order as it was placed, return to the Lab 50 Orders screen by clicking Cancel, or if you want to print only part of the order, or even a single print from an image where multiple sizes and quantities have been ordered, you can make adjustments using the arrow keys to increase or decrease the quantities.

To print a single image, simply uncheck the images you do not wish to print or select the Uncheck All option in the bottom, left corner of the screen, and then select the images you do wish to print. Unselected images will dim to make it easier to see what has been selected for processing.

You can also select to only print particular products by clicking on the Filter icon. As an example, if the customer ordered 4x6s and 5x7s, the filter will show only 4x6s and 5x7s, but if the customer ordered 4x6s, 5x7s, 8x10s, 11x14, 12x18, then all five of those products would be available as filters. Once the filter is selected, it will print all images with the selected size.

Single Image Select

If for any reason you need to start over in your print selection, you can click on the Reset link in the bottom, right corner of the screen, and the Print Preview screen will return the order settings to those the customer selected.

Once you have made your changes, click the Print button, and you will return to the order screen showing the print
progress of the order.

Order Progress Bar

**Note: If you are using the EQ-9800/9850 printer to process products that generate duplexed PDF files as part of the order, the Print Preview screen also allows you to only print specific parts of a multi-page, duplex product. Lab 50 will recognize it is a duplexed product and will send the correct number of pages and impositions to the printer.
