NOTE: This documentation relates to an earlier version of the APM / Lab 50 software.

Visit the current documentation home.

The maximum number of photos that may be scanned in the APM software may be changed by manually editing an xml file.

To do so, please do the following:

  1. Close the APM Software, including the hardware attendant.
  2. Once it is closed, go to C:\APM and find the file called apmconfig_apm.xml
  3. Before you do anything with it, make a backup copy in the event you make a mistake, so you can revert back.
  4. Then right click on the apmconfig_apm.xml file and select “open with” and choose Notepad.
  5. Do a search in the file called max_scans (ex. max_scans="24")
  6. Change the setting to your desired number (we do not recommend any more than 24 or 36 at the absolute most).
  7. Save and close the file and that is it.

If you start to experience issues related to scanning, then you will need to go back in and lower the number as a number of factors come into play on this ranging from the scanner type, driver version, amount of RAM on the system, etc.
