If you have multiple APMs, there are several ways to copy configuration from one machine to another.
How To:

There are two methods for copying configuration from one APM to another.

The first method is to go into Admin Screens and then press the Save/Restore Button.

Then, once the Utility opens, you can select the option to save configuration, and then select the drive letter for the media that you want to copy the files onto.

**Note: The pulldown menu is using the same media drive letters as are available on the APM.

Once you have selected the files, select "Go!". It will then copy the files to the media card you selected.

Then to copy these onto another kiosk repeat the same steps, except select "Restore Configuration Files", then select "Go!". This will then copy the files to the system and then will prompt you to reboot for the files to take effect.

As an alternative method, you can also manually copy files from the C:\APM directory on one kiosk to another.

The xml files you’ll want to copy are:

  • apmconfig_apm.xml
  • apmconfig_dispatcher.xml
  • apmconfig_hardware.xml
  • apmconfig_printstation.xml
  • apmconfig_products_custom.xml (if it exists)
  • apmconfig_receipt.xml
  • apmconfig_promotions.xml
  • apmlang_custom.xml
  • apmconfig_gift_pricing.xml

Important Considerations:

  1. If the two APMs are not running exactly the same version of the software, then make sure you run XMLMigrator.exe on the target machine once you have copied those XML files over. Ideally they need to be on the exact same version.
  2. Content is not copied over from one machine to another, so you may need to download and install the necessarary files via lucidiom downloader for the version you have.
  3. Customized Logos are not copied over from one machine to another.
  4. If the drive letters are different for the media slots, you will need to go back into the Devices section of the APM and configure them to match up in Windows.
  5. If a scanner is attachedr certain workflows like Folio or DVD cinema do not show up, you will need to go back into the Setup Wwizard and reselect the scanner used on the system, re-enable the particulr workflows in question etc. as these settigns are not necessarily all just file based.
