Processing Orders

When you right-click on an order, you can perform one of several actions. They include the following:

  • Open: Opens up a window with the details for the order.
  • Print: Prints the order to the selected fulfillment assigned for each product.
  • Download: Downloads the order from Lucidiom's storage server.
  • Export: Exports the order to the Output Folder (See Chapter 4 Fulfillment/Output Folder)
  • Print Invoice: Prints the invoice for the order to the Default printer on the system.
  • Burn CD/DVD: Burns order to CD or DVD. If the order has a CD or DVD product within the order and
Back Lab Burner is loaded and configured to be used, it will then burn the Image CD and/or DVD based on
the settings in the Fulfillment section for Back Lab Burner (See Chapter 4 Disc Maker and Back Lab Burner).
  • Charge Payment: Charges payment using payment processing account. For this to work, you must have an active processor account configured for use within Lab 50
  • Cancel: Cancels the order and updates the order status icon at the top left of the order.
  • Complete:
  • Mark as Printed:
  • Purge: Removes the Order from the Order screen.
  • Sort by: Sorts all the orders in the order section by one of the available criteria as listed earlier in this
    chapter.
  • Select All: Selects all the orders and highlights them in blue where you can perform one of the actions to
multiple orders at the same time.
Printing and the Print Preview Screen

When you select to print an order, the Print Order Preview screen will appear. This print preview provides the opportunity to modify the order before it is sent through the software for processing. It also allows the lab operator to print parts of a specific order.

**Note: If you have selected multiple orders, you will not be able to do the print preview, as it will only work when
printing a single order at a time.

Once the Print Preview Order screen appears, thumbnails of the images within the order will appear with the quantity
and product ordered for that image as well as some general information such as the file name and size.

Print Preview Screen

As shown in the Print Preview image above, all of the images and products are enabled and set to print the quantities
that the customer ordered by default.

You can click on the Print button to print the entire order as it was placed, return to the Lab 50 Orders screen by clicking Cancel without printing, or if you want to print only part of the order, or even a single print from an image where multiple sizes and quantities have been ordered, you can make adjustments.

To do this, simply uncheck the images you don’t want to print or selecting
the “Uncheck All” option at the bottom left. Now check only the image you want and then set a print quantity for
the desired size(s). Any images that you deselect will appear as grayed out.
Also if you want to print only a particular product, click on the “Filter” icon up at the top where you can now
choose within the range of selected products contained in the order. As an example, if the customer ordered 4x6s
and 5x7s, the filter will show only 4x6s and 5x7s, but if the customer ordered 4x6s, 5x7s, 8x10s, 11x14, 12x18, then all
five of those products would be available as filters.

If for any reason you need to start over, you can click on the “Reset” link at the bottom right and the Print Preview
screen will return the order to exactly as the customer placed it.
Once you have made your changes, click on print, and you will return to the order screen showing the print
progress of the order.

Note: For those with the EQ-9800/9850 printer used for printing Folio and other Creative Products and other
products that generate duplexed PDF files as part of the order, the Print Preview screen allows you to print only
specific parts of a multi-page, duplex product. The advantage to this is that Lab 50 will be smart enough to know
that it is a duplexed product and will send the correct number of pages and impositions to the printer.
