Step 1-- Unlocking Front Bezel

 

  •    Place the APM-3700 on a flat surface with the front of the kiosk facing you

  • Insert the provided key (The larger of the 2 sets provided) into the lock located on the top left of the Kiosk’s front bezel. Set the lock to the “on” position.

Step 2 – Remove/Replace the Card Reader and/or CD Drive:

 

  • .Carefully pry the front bezel cover from the chassis, working from left to right. No tools are required for this step as the design allows for its removal with your bare hands. There are two markings (arrows) on the upper left and right corners of the bezel that show were the clips are located. Little pressure should be applied to those locations to free the bezel off the chassis as shown to the right

  • Completely remove the front bezel and place it somewhere safe. Now that the bezel is removed that will leave the Optical Drive & Receipt printer tray exposed.

    If the clips that secure the bezel to the chassis will not come loose. Use a screwdriver at the location of clip 3(see image above), carefully push the clip in until it is released from the chassis.

  • Pull the tray out of the bay using the two silver tabs located at near the bottom of the Kiosk. A small amount of force needs to be applied to pull the tray our which is connected to a daughter board to the rear of the tray. The red arrows  in the image to the right

Step 3 – Remove/Replace the Card Reader and/or CD Drive:

 

  •  With the bay occupied by the Optical Drive and Receipt printer empty, this leaves clear access to the back of the Media Card Reader from within the empty bay.
  • The Media Card Reader is connected to via three cables,  Now that the CD and receipt print have been remoived, reach under the Media Card Reader and disconnect the three cables.  The three cables are a custom USB connector, an ATX Molex Connector and a standard USB (B) Connector.  The three cables must be detached from the back of the card reader before it can be removed. Those   These cables are attached to other cables via zip ties, pulling the card reader out without first disconnecting the mentioned cables could damage those other components, so please take extra care on this step.

  •  Once the cables are unplugged, remove the 4 screws found on the sides of the card reader (2 are found on each side of the card reader). Once the 4 screws are removed it will allow the Media Card Reader to freely slide out of its chassisSee images to the right.

  •  Push  Reach under the reader and push the back of the card reader with your fingers until enough of it protrudes for you to get a firm grip on it, to and slowly pull it completely free out of the chassis of the system..

 Step 4 – Re-installation Installation of the DriveReader:

 

  • Reverse the above steps to install the new or replacement media card reader.

    Position the three cables to the approximate position of their receptacles before installing the media reader, this makes it easier to install the connectors.
