By default the APM softwre software is set to use Glossy as the default finish for each of the 3 possible fulfillments fulfillment if the Glossy/Matte option is not enabled.

- Close the APM Software and Hardware attendant so all APM related applications are no longer running.
- Navigate to C:\APM.
- Locate the apmconfig_apm.xml file and then make a backup copy of this before editing. This copy can be saved in another location or renamed to something else.
Ex. from apmconfig_apm.xml to apmconfig_apm_copy.BAK or similar. - On the original file, apmconfig_apm.xml, right click on it and open it in Notepad or similar text editor such as Notepad++.
- navigate Navigate down to the <fulfillemnt> <fulfillment> section in the file. There you will see 3 subsections, one for each fulfillment as ni in the examples below.
- On the first line of each of the 3 fulfillemnts fulfillment where you want to enable it to set to "matte", simply add the setting default_finish_option="true" to the main line as ins the "After" example further on down this page, and make sure to add only one space between it and the next xml paramter parameter on the smae same line.
- Repeat the above step for each fulfillment you wish to default to matte.
- Save the file.
- Reopen the file in internet exploresr Internet Explorer to make sure the formatting is intact.
- Restart the APM softwrae software and the orders whoudl should now default to matte.
