Step 3 --Remove/Replace the Receipt Printer:

 

Orientate the tray pulled from Step 2 and
  • With the Tray out, remove the two ribbon cables that go from the thermal receipt printer (Mechanical Print Head) to the thermal receipt printer’s controller board.
  • The two ribbon cables have to be removed from the controller board.

Please use caution to not damage the ribbon cables on removal and reinstall. The ribbon cables are secured into place by plastic tabs that have to be released before the ribbon cables can be safely pulled out

Once the two ribbon connects are released from the controller board orientate the tray so that the Receipt printer (front) is facing you. Open the receipt printer door. This will give you access to the two small screws that secure the receipt printer to the receipt printer chassis. See pictures to the right:

Step 4 – Remove Rollers from the back of front panel (Optional and only if necessary)

 

  • With the receipt printer door released use screw to remove the two screws that secure the roller assembly as shown
below:

Step 5-- Remove /Replace the Controller Board (Optional and only if necessary)

 

  • There are three screws that secure the controller board to the receipt printer chassis.
Please note the

  •  the same requirement applies to the removal of the controller board as it does to the print head removal in step 3 which is; Both ribbon cables that run from the thermal receipt printer mechanical head to the controller board have to be removed before removing any of those components. See images below for the location of the three screws

Step 6-- Remove /Replace the Power Converter Board (Optional and only if necessary)

 

. First disconnect
  • Disconnect the Molex connector that runs from the converter board to the daughter board.
I recommend removing
  • Remove the connector from the daughter board then remove the connector attached directly to the converter board for the sake of ease.
  • The location of the four screws that secure the converter board in placed are marked with circles
below.
  • to the right and are on the green circuit board.
